Cordura Faux has never had it easy.

Born in District Eight, she was forced to grow up fast. From a very young age, she learned that family isn't forever, and trust hardly means a thing. Her father spent most of his days gambling away what little money the family had, and her mother wasn't around for long. She found solace in her twin sister, but like so many things, her existence in Cordura's life wasn't meant to last.

At sixteen, she fell in love with a beautiful stranger who promised to change her life for the better. But, as Cordura climbed the ranks of the casino her father had previously fallen victim to, she began to realize that she'd just been taken from one cage to another.

By the time she's eighteen, Cordura is jaded and aimless, but at the very least, she's trying to have a modicum of hope. The Ninety-Seventh Hunger Games arrives just in time to snuff it out.
